UNIX / LINUX ADMINISTRATOR (DBA) SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR: Competencies/Responsibilities: Create basic documentation. Familiar with most basic system administration tools and processes such as boot/shutdown, add or remove user accounts, utilizes back-up procedures and maintain system database files (groups, hosts and aliases). Experience supporting UNIX operating systems, high end desktop and server hardware, and networking environments. Demonstrated analytical skills for problem identification and problem resolution in support of UNIX operating systems (AIX, IRIX, Solaris) Able to write scripts in some administrative language such as TK, Perl, or in a shell. Demonstrated skills in specifying, purchasing, deploying, installing, tuning, maintaining, and supporting UNIX systems, filers, peripherals, and networks. Capable of training users in applications and UNIX fundamentals.
